Monday Market comments: -
Asia is off sharply, France has opened down 2-3%, calls are for a sharp sell off in Europe on Monday due to disappointment that the G-7 did not do anything new over the weekend. Dan, I concur with your accessment for short term bullishness in the US, despite the above comments by me. The futures were down 11 earlier and now are down 6.40. But I still view any short term bounce in the US as a trading rally and a time to reduce positions and take profits or smaller losses. It seems that the odds are great that we will be entering a global recession. Sectors of interest include utilities, short term government bonds, health care, and a nibble in energy sector. Gold stocks have certainly been strong lately, but I have been disapppointed too many times by this sector. would appreciate your comments on gold sector at this time. larrry
