Your assumption that this is a bear market has a few discrepencies
1. The tech stocks got hit over a year ago, witness CY and others
2. In the last selloff the Tech figures show that the decline
was on much less volume, didnt go thru the lows of the
previous sell off and most important did not generate as many
new lows vs new highs as the previous panic.

This info was disbursed on the Bob Brinker program Sat and Sun
and his track record the last 11 years is excellent, he has kept
his followers in for the full run and he is expecting new highs
in the spring or early summer of 99. Keep an open mind

Actually when adjusted for inflation and using a century long view, there have been three major bear markets this century. Each as lasted an average of 12 years, the declines averaged 75% and it took an average of 26 years to exceed the previous top - a long time for some of the older yuppies.
