In 1987 when the market crashed interest rates in London were dropped immediately by about 3% and in the US by I can't quite remember but more than 1/4%. The result was that the market drop lasted a couple of days if that and panic was averted.

So far in the face a catastrophe immeasurably greater than that which faxced us in 1987 all we have got is a drop of 1/4%. This is an incredible lack of reality by the Fed.
