this is a bit out of day trading ...

does any of online brokers which you mentioned here trade options
on line direct or is is same as by "cibc investors edge" --
you can trade stock directly on line but for options you have to call in and place the order by live person .. ??

thanks tlb

But you have to keep in mind that TD Greenline is the largest discount brokerage in Canada and one of the largest in the US with
their Acquisition of WaterHouse and Jack ???.

Greenline maybe slow due to the volume of trades they do whereas
E*Trade maynot have as much volume. If E*Trade does grow their
excecution time may suffer too. I notice the MicroMax will slow down
when significant news comes across CNBC. Usually they can not staff
the trading floor 100% all the time but pull people in from other areas during peak trading times which may take some time.

Possibly the only way for better service at TD is to qualify for one of their High End accounts, Platinum being the best with free Online time with Micromax. I think you also get a personal trader who you talk to all the time like a Ful Service Broker.

>>> Which inturn will make the efficient companies like E*trade and others a "superior takeover target"!!<<<

Very interesting.. and yes I agree. Just hope that they would not destroy what e-trade now provides in order to cut corners and get more profit. Then again, if that should happen, hopefully another competitor would come on scene.
Another thing I like is the credit and debit action so when something is sold, that money is ready for another buy.
