Very true, metal studs are being used more often these days. Also being used are metal wall braces along the outside of the studs. These braces usually are 1" x 1/8" thick and run in an X pattern on each wall to support any movement side to side. I've seen truck loads of wood 2x4s get sent back because they were too warped to use for framing. This is another reason where metal 2x4s can benefit in the "Time is Money" area.
