I have been a big Gateway computer fan since the days when you'd tell someone "I'm buying a Gateway 2000 computer," and they'd say "A what?" I have personally purchased (for myself, wife, & office) about 25 Gateways over the past 8 years. I've gotten many more friends and colleagues to do the same. They've always had great value, even compared to other mail order houses, and had up-to-date technology to offer.

Today, I ordered a Dell for myself. My last four machines from GTW have just had too many problems. While I'll always sing the praises of GTW techs & support service (they were fantastic back in the early days of Windows when my software was crashing all the time they'd give me and hour or two at a time to work things out), they can't do much about all the failed parts I've suffered through with new machines. Sure those parts are under warranty & everything is covered but I had to replace mother boards, hard drives, cd drives, power boxes, & modems too many times.

At first I just thought it was bad luck or a lemon machine &, as I said, the techs were great about replacing parts. But it has happened just too often lately, I'm moving on.

I also decided to short GTW & have been adding the short whenever GTW it gets above 50 (may have had my last opportunity in that range for a while).

kory, 6% eps growth is not "on track" for current valuations, imho ;-) they had better improve their results and get back on track.
