As an owner of Sequus Pharmaceuticals (SEQU), I was very pleased to see Alza's buyout offer this morning. It said in the press release that at current values, the offer would be worth $16 and change to SEQU shareholders. The stock closed Friday at 10 7/8. Lo and behold, Mr. Faber comes on Squawk right before the market opens and proclaims that there is no premium in the deal and verbally writes it off as being no big deal. I nearly had a heart attack, thinking that I had missed something in the press release.

David, if you read this thread, you can buy calculators very cheap these days. Go to Office Depot or Office Max and you can probably buy one for less than $10 which would easily calculate simple math such as 0.4 x $ 42 per share.

Yes - I'd rather see it (the peacock) on the left too. I think trying to "cheat" a peek is what's causing my eyestrain and headaches. I get the same feeling from driving at night with a little oil spread over the windshield by the wipers. If I had the choice of where to put it, my second choice would be in the upper right corner. If my first choice was utilized, It'd need a good coat of petroleum jelly for easier insertion. PW.

Another vote for upper right corner. That's where most cable networks put their logos. It'd be a pain no matter what part of the tape it disrupts, and most of the time the tape is the most valuable thing about CNBC.
Or why not do away with it altogether. I suppose most of CNBC's viewership is aware of what channel it has stumbled onto. They can tell their advertisers they are delivering an intelligent (relatively) demographic by filtering out those that can't watch without the turkey to tell them where they are.
