Tim,

>so from a viral or bacterial point of view....we are nothing but reluctant
hosts (read resource.)..who are doomed to failure in their war against us (germs)........<

YES, The virus, germ, tiger, shark has every right to eat humans. We have every right to try to avoid being eaten.

>I object to putting a monetary value on higher life forms....I realize Im a bit
biased....gorillas....orangs....chimps...are not here to serve man..or be served to
him.......they are part of the creation....and have equal rights to life ...liberty...and pursuit of happiness..<

This is pretty meaningless. "Higher life forms" is an invented catagory. I don't buy the notion that Chimps etc. and whales are different than germs, cows, grasshoppers, trees, carrots, and humans (no I don't advocate cannibalism but for societal reasons, not because I consider the human animal any different than other animals). You and Chuzz and others want to impose your views on others. Absent evidence that hunting a species endangers that species' survival banning the hunt is an imposition of your spiritual/religious beliefs on others.

I will never hunt whales because a living whale is more valuable to me than a dead one but I have no right to impose that view on someone else. I and you do have a right to demand that any hunt/harvest does not endager the species. Our rights in this matter go no further.
