Stitch,

"I must say that the average person in the U.S. has little clue at the precipice which we are approaching."

Greenspan and Rubin are supposed to be so wise. It was less than a month ago that I heard President Clinton saying how great the US economy is and that we would not be effected by the crisis in the rest of the world.

For a year, the posts to this thread have predicted the problems that they are just now addressing.

"The Asian situation would become global
The Global economic crisis will become a US economic crisis
Japanese banking problems are much worse than reported
Russia will melt down"
There's a lot more I won't bother to mention, but this thread has predicted each item long before it has happened.

With all of the supposed US expertise, why haven't these problems been addressed long before now if they have been so obvious even to the lay people on this thread?

"Those remarkable Americans. So much power and not the faintest idea of what to do with it." Author?

FWIW,
Ron
