Not a very savy move actually because they changed the tax laws last year (kinda dumb if you ask me?). Shorting the box is now seen as a taxable sale. He just wasted money paying commissions. He might as well go ahead and join the army too before they draft him (G) (or did they chnage that law too? ) (GG)

it always pays to know the tax laws.

I am a firm believer that Dell is the best ran company in the world but the market is going to drag it down..Too many walls of worry..I think I am going short on some of the techs tomorrow..maybe even Dell.. I am not a great shorter and it will be a short term deal...Me being a Total Dell bull and turning bearish may be a lite shinning at the end of the tunnel...Dell has bled along with the rest and we should see a rally soon but for now..Its gloomy

Yes why didn't he just buy puts to hedge his position rather than short some more DELL shares and buy calls?

Even so he should change his name to "Neutral on DELL"

In this country there is only one capital gains/income tax rate and it's too high.
