Fact of the matter is, in the big picture there's probably a negligible difference in reliability between the K6 and the PII. One may be slightly less prone to failure than the other, but failure rates are minescule, especially in comparison to software failure and other kinds of hardware failure.

Whether AMD will make it into servers remains to be seen, but that is essentially a marketing issue and not a technology issue (once AMD is delivering SMP capable parts at competitive speed grades).
