Acer and IDT must feel that they will have some sort of licensing protection. I don't know the details of what that might be. It wouldn't break my heart if IDT burns their bridges with IBM and then gets tied up in a legal battle with Intel, though. This would leave more of the XC market open to Cyrix. I think that Cyrix and IDT have shown that a low cost processor company can not manufacture at IBM and be profitable. So, it will be interesting to see who Rise is partnering with. I suspect that they may be lining up a threesome with STM and IBM.
