$250MM CDN profit is good, but how many $BB's were lost in potential sales of carrier gear while NN was farting around with the enterprise space - this was a resource and mindshare drain for them. Ahhhh, COMS and USRX......if COMS starts nailing VPN, VOIP, and Cable deals naysayers may eat crow.

Okay, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. You're allowing COMS future improvement, so let's give NN the same space.

<<Incidentally, I heard yesterday Cisco's OC-48 has been pushed back. What are you hearing?>> Haven't heard this......if it's ATM OC-48 I'm sure CSCO isn't concerned, again within CSCO there is a religious war against ATM - they want the world to go pure packets over SONET. If PPP over OC-48 SONET is delayed and carrier customers are threatening to cancel orders then you have a concern to CSCO mgmt.

My source is in DWDM and was talking about GigE when he said the OC-48 was pushed back.

As for the "religious war," why did Cisco add ATM if it's the high priest of PPP over SONET? I recognize there's a holy war and I'm watching as closely as anyone to see which side God blesses.

Talk about taking metaphors to their extremes. :)
