Les, thank you for your post. Certain parts of it borders on a point I floated on this thread or one of the other ones.

I tried to show a similarity in attitude expressed by many Americans towards this mess and what many Germans probably felt during the Nazi regime. There were many Germans who felt disenfranchised by the Jewish people that occupied positions of wealth and influence before Hilter came into power. Germany had been through serious economic fallout and lacked a leader with "Charisma". Hilter played to the anger stored up by the have-nots, and usurped the powers that belong to a free democratic society. His methods were successful in putting money in the wallets, food in the bellies and false pride for the "master race".

Very few German citizens, if any, voiced any discontent with his actions. Not unlike those Americans of today who say, as long as Clinton is responsible (their opinion) for the economic conditions in the US, they don't care what he does-leave him alone.

It's beyond belief that we have so many people who express a willingness to let Clinton or anyone for that matter to demean the office in fear that their lifestyle could be threatened. Frankly, it turns my stomach.
