Wow, what an ordeal! Thanks - great article. The fundamentals of that market (high inflation & rising interest rates) would've had me out of the market pretty quickly. I'm well conditioned on that.

But I'm less sure how to handle this kind of environment.

Japan up over 6%. Maybe we'll get a rally today that won't spit out the bit before the stretch. We've probed and successfully tested ad nauseum, time to get this anticipated giant bull run under way. I sold some international fund for a tax loss and put it into SPYders since I wasn't in the mood to buy another fund's distribution for two months. I hope I'm not getting too cute as Europe/Int'l can get explosive here after what looks like a true bear market with my preferred Int'l fund down about 28% in 10 weeks ending 10/5/98
