It looks like DVD-Audio is on its way. Get ready for 6 channel sound (or standard 2 channel L,R). The DVD-Audio Standard allows for 8 tracks of separate audio:

Front Left, Front Center, Front Right,

Rear Left, Rear Right,

and 1 Subwoofer

...OR 2 channels of standard L,R stereo.

I think that the audio is 96k sample rate and 24 bit.

It's gonna sound massive. I read that the new Aerosmith Live Album that's coming out will be one of the first DVD-audio releases.
