Justin,

I was working as a bank teller and needed to take accounting 101 if I was going to be considered for any type of promotion. The first night of class, we covered basics of the balance sheet, income statement and statement of owner's equity. I was one of two people in the class of 20 who understood it all. I quickly decided that accounting would be a more profitable career path.
