RR,

Not sure offhand as to the timing of the release. Haven't spoken with the company in several weeks now. Nevertheless, looks like the brief drop below was 3 was more biotech and stock related than technical, as it jumped right above 3 again very quickly today with excellent support at 3 all day. Both yesterday and today showed a quick flurry of volume, with today showing some extra price jump, too. Nevertheless this is still all on relatively low volume and smaller retail trading. Of note, yesterday a load of biotechs were down in a fairly big way....if memory serves, imnr, vicl, isip, etc. all had losses like ATIS, and most had good days today, especially imnr. However, the trading of ATIS reminds me of a coil tightening some, at least in terms of support. We shall see.

Hope all is well,

Marshall

RR and all,

Apparently the 3Q release is due in @ a month, the week of friday the 13th apparently...interesting timing, maybe a black cat will be cloned?? Whether any info will be reported with this is yet to be seen, but I wouldn't be surprised, if there is more to say. According to the company, the main 4Q transcyte(d-tc) revenues likely won't appear until the 4Q, given that the 4Q will be the first full S&N qtr pushing it, vs. ATIS having 6 people out there. My guess is there could be some hint as to what kind of sales have occurred prior to the 4Q, such as with the 3Q release, if the news merits releasing. Sure wouldn't seem like there would be much change in transcyte revenues for the 3Q though.

There is no comment that the company is able to yet make regarding the dermagraft study, such as how far along they are with patient enrollment, etc. The first announceable data is likely months away still, but per the company, it is likely that if the study goes as is planned/hoped, data could be presented to the FDA for interim analysis as soon as August '99, so if given an expedited review, 1Q 2000 would seem the earliest launch/approval timeframe, which is still well ahead of many's projections, especially those who claim several years at best(again, assuming the study goes according to plan).

The other wildcards, as I had previously referred to in the past, are the other possible strategic alliances that could be set up along the way. There are two main areas being investigated per ATIS right now, cardiovascular and gene therapy, and this would likely mean 2 different companies. Having one or both occur between now and next August would indicate that the company isn't totally financially counting on dermagraft for its survival, as would otherwise likely be expected without one of these alliances.

Meanwhile, today's movement appeared similar to a few days ago, with biotechs getting clobbered(see IMNR, ISIP, INHL, ICOS, GERN, VICL[less so today given that they didn't rebound yesterday like many of the others], etc.). It was nice to see the ask still hang on at 3, although the upper 2s seems to be the bottom line at the moment. In a year or two, 2-4 will be unheard of more than likely....either well above or well below I would guess.

Happy Thursday all,

Marshall
