Jim,

I just read this post on Yahoo on the AMD message board (Message 12525). Looks like AMD is beginning to spank Intel. When this news gets released along with the latest Tier 1 announcements later this month and news of the impending K7 processor from the uP Forum, AMD stock will surely rise.

Message 12525 from AMD Message Board on YAHOO

The retail sales in August were reported as follows:
"Computers containing Intel processors accounted for 54.3 percent of retail sales in August, according to Matt Sargent, computing analyst with Computer Intelligence. This is a drastic drop from the same month a year ago when Intel-based PCs accounted for 84.3 percent of retail sales."

I just had an early glimpse at retail sales for September and AMD's market share keeps growing. This is despite the fact that Intel was shipping Celeron A's and Pentium II-450s in September. These numbers were courtesy of PC DATA magazine which will be posted later this month: Intel at 42% and AMD at a whopping 49% of Retail Sales for September. And for the sub $1000 segment, AMD had a commanding 60% of Retail Sales. AMD is Kicking the Crap out of Intel in Retail. And when they start to capture some of the lucrative Commercial Market, they will become solidly profitable. AMD should build 5.5M CPUs in Q4 and with nearly all major OEMs on the bandwagon, should easily sell out the factory.

Good Investing!!
