I agree AMTD's website is a piece of crap, as well as their customer service department. Order execution is slow, and confirmation is practically non-existent. I'm in the process of transferring my equity to DATEK.

Regarding the rip-off $25.00, there is a class action settlement in the Supreme Court of New York wherein Paine Webber charged an "Accoutn Transfer Fee of $50 upon closing that account or transferring all of the assets in those accounts to another broker..." Defendant did not charge the fee who closed the account without transferring. The date in question is on or after March 15, 1994.

I was not aware of the Ameritrade cash-flow-kicker and must now look it up. If you were to close the Ameritrade accoutn and take the assets, then go elsdedwhere, it seems on first reading that Ameritrade could treading on dangerous ground.

Anyhow, so many of you have shared information that this is my small thank you!
