About a year ago, I posted a question about currency and how the fall of Thai Baht could effect the HDD industry. Well, we've been seeing some reversal of the Dollar since interest rates and the stock market have fallen, especially vs the Yen. Not as much change in Bhat, Ringit or Won. Singapore seems to be gaining strength.

The next interest rate move should be down. Perhaps this last cut was less to keep the dollar from going down too fast. Now, there is some pressure on Japan to correct their situation and strengthening Yen may not fit into our plans to see them get their house in order. Certainly looks like the Dollar has more chance of going down than up, or am I missing something?

Does this falling Dollar improve US head and media competition? Or, since much of the production comes from the same regions it doesn't really matter? Maybe costs will rise and cut into profits?

This currency thing should be obvious, but I sure missed acting on the signal last year. Does this coming move make things worse or better? Maybe Stitch is feeling the change faster than we do?

Regards,

Mark
