>>Oracle and Intc/Cisco (you know something we don't ?) etc have made some substantial investments in the HQ bldgs and it is just not feasible to ask these companies to move...>><<

When I purchased the facility for our business, one of the prime considerations was locating in an area with stable real estate values in a range that our employees could afford. I could have decided it was more important to locate in an area more amenable to the management, but since our employees are the backbone of company, felt that considering their housing needs more important in the decision than let's say my personal choice. So I guess I would have to say that in some respects companies like Oracle are victims of their own success. But sooner or later, a relocation decision will have to be made if the HQ is in an unaccessible area for their employees. Eventually the employees will go elsewhere for employment and Oracle will be the loser. I guarantee you that Oracle will decide to relocate, if the management feels their survival is at stake. bp
