I want to pose a question:

If you are a committed Christian who accepts the supremacy of God and therefore the Word, if in your reading of the Bible you find that it reveals as Truth something that is in conflict with the Constitution and the legal understanding of the courts, if you were President of the US, would you uphold the Constitution and go against your Bible, or would you break the law and declare it righteous?
