I dunno about designer-clothing sweatshops in Silicon Valley, but I hear San Francisco is a hothouse for that particular industry.

Actually, I work across the moat from the Oracle building. However, Michelle is right, there is a lot of housing, mostly single family, within a 5 mile radius of the Oracle building. Closer in to Oracle, most of the housing is higher density, condos or apartments, but the city of Belmont is quite close and consists of older, single family units.
