The AMD flash memory is ROM, probably on-board.
The storage is some type of microdrive, not removable flash memory.
I read a review in IBD about this device. I think it would be pretty cool to have magazines rather than books on it. That way you could download your favorite magazine each week and advertisers could go nuts with both still photography, music, video clips or interactive pages.

The market for people into reading novels is felt to be small, so this will be a niche device. Most people want to get a paperback and a comfortable blanket and roll up into their favorite chair. A futuristic device like this just doesn't fit into the picture.
