Maybe at NSM it takes 10 weeks.

That's almost an entire QUARTER !

By the time they find out they have a process problem, they would have nearly a whole quarter's worth of fab material ready for the SIlicon Grave Yard !

I think they said that only samples of MXi would be available this year.

If you are right about basically needing 3 months for processing wafers, testing and packaging, there is only a very limited window for NSM to make MIIs.

It would be interesting if after all the press releases and comments about MII in conference calls, if NSM just skipped MII and went directly to MXi.

It wouldn't be unprecedented for Cyrix to spend a lot of time, money and energy to get things right, and at the time the product is finally perfect, it is no longer competitive in the market.
