pezz, I also was not suggesting to make one group the victim of the other (although Im sure it seems like that but this forum brings out the best in me!) But my observation here is, that for prior generations home ownership was practially a right. Almost anybody could buy a home it seemed. But now, for the younger groups, it is much more difficult to do and in some areas such as Ca and NYC its practically impossible. So, to keep providing all these tax breaks to homeowners only and not include the huge asset that is someones home as a part of their net worth, while not providing anything of that sort to the younger group is very unfair. And the most unfair of all the unfair characterizations of people is this irrelevant "Income" measurement as some sort of gauge for who needs an entitlement to get by. JMO
