Bob, Yup, I think we can tell the sheep from the goats as far as fund managers go and buy the best right now. In LA, I like Latin Discovery Fund (LDF), a Morgan Stanley fund that is always the best performing LA fund. O.K., that means a lower loss right now, but, still, if you have to be somewhere, this is the one. A dandy 24% discount. In Asia, you have more choices. Morgan Stanley Asia Pacific (APF) with a 20% discount is one I own. I also like Scudder New Asia (SAF) with a 22% haircut. Those both have a big Japan representation. Ex Japan, I like Asia Pacific (APB)-23% for the larger cos. and Fidelity Emerging Asia-14% for the smaller cos. Fido has been the best performer in this group, proving that not all of them are idiots. <G> MB
