Otherwise, why would he advise people to divide their assets between equities and fixed-income investments as they get within a decade or two of retirement? I sometimes think that people get the wrong idea from the title of his newsletter. Some people seem to focus on the timing aspects, to the exclusion of the risk-management aspects of his advice. That certainly describes my greatest failing as an investor. Maybe he should rename it the "Marketiming and Risk Management" newsletter.
