I haven't actually done my own research on this. I was told that the hadith was missaplied, but I didn't get the correct context so I'm not sure what is going on. Feel free to speak out against it but it is not associated with mainstream Islamic teaching, practice or understanding of this hadith and that should be clarified in the process. We don't want to polarize this issue. Keep in mind the majority of the 1 billion Muslims are uneducated and could be swept into a bad practice as a reaction against a preacher of another religion. None of us want to drive someone into something like that unwittingly. It is a very sensitive issue. I guess I should look into it right away. I am sorry for the women who have suffered in this atrocity and I'll pray God blesses them for the hardship they've endured.
