Actually, that's not quite true, BigD. CEOs of big companies routinely get away with quite flamboyant personal behavior. Some time ago, I posted an article about their goings-on with young, female subordinates. Don't remember much about it, except that Oracle's Larry Ellison is supposedly a particularly egregious example.

Why do they get away with it? Well, because it is not easy to get rid of them (they are big stockholders in their own companies; the Board is in awe of them; etc., etc.), just as it will not prove easy to get rid of the President.
