JGoren, I believe you are right from the American perspective.

However, in Europe and most of the rest of the world the market niche for a global satellite phone is very very thin.

If you think about the use cases you will have many (such as German wood business in Burma or British oil exploration team in inner Mongolia), but if you scrutinize them you will find that they are very marginal, much more so than originally planned. Internationally travelling businessman is not in this segment any more.
