"This will all be forgotten in several months and the bull market will be
on again."

Latin America is full of commodity based economies--I have spent time in some of them. Cotton, coffee, oil, cattle, certain grains, metals.

Without further recovery in the CRB I don't see the bottom yet in these economies and until they do bottom and reverse up, the US market will never see new highs, though it may rally a month or two after October. Meow--THUD. Recovery will take more than just a few months. And I've slept on the finca with scorpions, tarantulas, black widow spiders, and coral snakes so I'm not a frightened little child making noise.

" Russia isn't melting down"..quite truth..It already has!
" You don't export abstractions, you export goods and services..."
quite the opposite..big money has just about exported abstractions..promises of well for all..when it has wrecked ruin on most of the indigenous people in the emerging countries and just made a few leaders and pirhanas quite wealthy..they can't afford the goods
but boy have they paid dearly for the services
"When people work for other's interests, you can't trust them."..tell that to all the people Sir John Templeton has helped..and all the volunteers in countries etc..
"Banks haven't been binging on OPM. They made loans to investment firms"..screamingly funny who paid for the s%l bailout and who will pay for this next coming bailout.."investment firms"..more like gambling firms
"Real estate is headed down? Do you live in Japan?"..no NY ..guess you have to the time to do more research than an aquaintance who runs the real estate pension for a major corporation :-)
"The foreigners are learning to inflate their wages. Once you have something in demand, you can pull all kinds of shenanigans." with now 80 percent of people living below poverty in Indonesia for instance or with how many millions of Russias going to rally..possibly they might inflate their wages but if they are owed so much backpay..who cares?
"There was an article in the NY Times based on a report from the Commerce Dept. showing that black and Hispanics have made the most economic gains" so many of the new jobs have been lower paying jobs" and that the elderly were better off than they ever had been."..tell that to the people who are now being cut off by HMO's and will have to now pay for their own drugs..(more horror stories on HMOS than there is room to repeat..
I believe after this mess the world will recover big time! after all this splitting apart..
