If this strategy requires them to sell at less than their previous goal of a 25% discount, then I'd say AMD's position is weakening.

Thanks for pointing this out. Unfortunately, my local dealer doesn't quote Celeron prices, so I didn't include them in my comparison. It seems that AMD has targeted the wrong CPU segment for their products!
