HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Maximum Bandwidth, the web's largest source for Star Trek(TM) software, announced today that its 98 holiday lineup will include cutting-edge first-person adventures, strategy simulations and the first-ever Trek title for the booming DVD market. The Star Trek titles are: Starfleet Academy on DVD(TM), The Secret of Vulcan Fury(TM), Starfleet Command(TM), Birth of the Federation(TM), Klingon Honor Guard(TM), and Starship Creator(TM). Veteran Star Trek licensees Interplay Productions, MicroProse, and Simon & Schuster Interactive are issuing the releases, which will range in price from $29.95 to $49.95.

Interplay Productions' just-released DVD version of ST: Starfleet Academy eliminates disc swapping, seamlessly integrating this top-selling game's 220 minutes of MPEG-2 video. The highly-anticipated ST: Secret of Vulcan Fury will showcase the latest advances in 3D, photo-realistic graphics in an action adventure based on The Original Series. ST: Starfleet Command will incorporate the universe of Star Trek and the United Federation of Planets in a Risk-like strategy game.

In Microprose's holiday release, ST: Klingon Honor Guard, players will fight to save the Klingon Empire in a combat simulation action adventure. Also for the holidays, ST: Birth of the Federation will give players control of one of five races in the STAR TREK universe in a turn-based, multi-player strategy game of space exploration, expansion and tactical combat.

Simon & Schuster Interactive will release ST: Starship Creator this Fall which lets you, the newest admiral in Starfleet, build and test the performance of your own fleet of specialized Federation vessels in automated mission simulations, to see if your ship designs measure up to the exacting standards of Starfleet.

''Trekkers everywhere will love our selection, aggressive bundle pricing, and superior product information,'' said Maximum Bandwidth President, George W. Wright. Wright concluded, ''The exciting range and quality of these new products will fuel customer satisfaction and excitement in this growing market segment.'' What a death spiral. One year ago at 25, today under 8. No floor in sight either. It just gets worse and worse.
