*** WSJ Money & Investing 10/6/98 Tuesday ***

Stock market indexes and % decline from peaks:

DJIA -17.26%
S&P 500 -16.70%
Nasdaq Comp -23.71%

The bears are everywhere. "Confidence is eroding as we speak" said Henry Herrmann Chief Investment Officer at Waddell & Reed in an interview with the WSJ.

Personal comment: Keep it coming. I love this kind of bearish talk esp. as we test the range of the benchmark low.

Also, LTC parnters personally borrowed a total of nearly $43 million to make equity investments in the hedge fund. Lawrence Hilibrand and Hans Hufschmid, formerly of Salomon Brothers fame, borrowed $24 million and $14.6 million respectively. LTC declined comment on this situation.
