I thought the board would be interested in hearing about a little bit about a bulk e-mail update that I received (as a content provider using Wave Systems to sell my stuff) from Bill Davis at Wave just this morning. I found encouraging. I don't feel comfortable posting the text of it here (plus there's stuff that's not too relevant to the discussion), but some of the high points:

--Wave has just completed a re-design of GSN, including the back office system. You can check out the visual changes to the site for yourself

--changes have been made in the process by which new users register for an account

--Wave has tripled their sales, marketing & technical staff and say they're going to be making an aggressive effort to register new users and add more content

--Wave has joined become a member of something called "Antifraud," which apparently helps them track down software pirates

--for content providers, the system for reporting transaction data has been improved. You get more detailed information about sales, including demographic info for those who purchase your product.

--the Wave juggler now casts a shadow!

Encouragingly, the e-mail also refers to forthcoming desktop solutions from Hauppauge, IBM "and many others...in the near future." Given all this, I think it would be reasonable to expect to see some publicity soon.

I thought the board would like to hear about this. (I'm posting this at RB as well.) Anyone who hasn't yet should give the system a try by registering with Wave and purchasing some electronic content. (Caution...shameless pitch ahead!) Why not buy a chapter or two from my novel (after sampling the first chapter for free, of course), at: members.xoom.com
