The problem for shareholders is that the longer you go without a deal, the more that people become convinced a deal won't happen and flee TSATA. This in turn drives the share price down, lowering the cost for News to do a deal.

In a more stable market, this wouldn't hurt as much, because a lower price would add to Rupert's motivation and the deal would get done. But with the future so uncertain, capital markets are skittish and this delay will almost certainly force the stock down further. Finally, there are no competing bidders waiting in the wings to keep Rupert honest.

At the end of the day, things may well end up as predicted on this thread, including a 300% pop in TSATA. Problem is, it will be going from 1 to 3...

Regards,

NOEL
