The courts are wrong! People have started to treat buying stock like a day at the casino (hence the reason I think internet trading should be illegal). This type of buying and selling (timing the market or trying to) can't be prevented by a broker. If the application says aggressive investor then all a broker can do is give the best advice possible. In the final analysis however, it is the clients money. Period! If the risk profile fits the trade, losses can not and should not be blamed on the broker.

Jim - <<OT>> - "My big question to the courts is:
When are the courts going to pass legislation that says that an individual is responsible, and the institution is not responsible for a loss that occurs.
"

You're confused or weren't listening in civics classes; courts don't pass legislation.

Don't hold your breath on letting brokers off the hook for losses they bring about, either.
