Some questions and observations on CS staffing:

Anyone know more about the sale of shares to Nobuo Kamata, CEO of Soliton Systems, mentioned in the SEC filing:
www4.edgar-online.com

The company's home page appears to be:
soliton.co.jp

Is this a prelude to a purchase by Cabletron, or is this a purchase that is already done, or none of the above? Not sure if CS has much presence in asia beyond sales offices; maybe CS is trying to expand there when it is cheapest? Soliton seems to be a design only firm; no manufacturing facilities of its own.

I also noticed on cabletron.com that top-center of their page, the Hot News is employment opportunities! Just a couple weeks ago there was mentioned a possible hiring freeze; obviously not consistent with employment as hot news.

Finally, on a related note, with Cisco price sliding, likely many employee stock options will go under water for a while unless Cisco re-prices them. In the mean time it will likely hurt morale because employees are probably used to seeing Cisco stock price only go up.
I would think that would help CS compete on hiring, particularly in the silicon valley area.
