Doe was "starting to sound like" JLA can be read as an assessment of him as an unbalanced hater and prospective gun nut. I.e. sounding like JLA == sounding like a nut. At least that's the naive reading, I'm sure the astute fans of Richard Mellon Scaife and his minions can come up with an intellectually rigorous interpretation of the post in question, indicating JLA is cool and Doe is bad.
