a profit for AMD is like the Pope getting married. no one expected as much

K6 up 70% in sales

although smaller firms, PTNX and NDN also reported better than most expected. PTNX sells computer printers

AMD was up $1, then appears to be halted

Ref: AMD - Joe,could be but look what happened with MOT earnings today,I guess investors are not interested in facts but rather they seem to have this infatuation with the 'doom and gloom' theory these days and taken a particular liking for it.

Could be but based on what happened with
AMD, I doubt it. PSYCHOLOGY, fear, nervousness
and anxiety are ruling the market
for now and probably will until the end of
the month. Whether there is a basis
in FACT for all of this APPARENTLY
is irrelevant at present.
Good news will continue to be ignored,
positive earnings surprises will continue
to be shrugged off. I felt this was coming
but was not prepared for how all-pervasive
the gloomy scenario would become.
The self-fulfilling prophecies of
the naysayers are feeding on themselves
and CREATING more fear and uneasiness;
but this cannot last, sooner or later
logic and reason will have to take over
and DELL will be back,,,of that I have no doubt.
