Let me start by saying that I appreciate your thoughtful post and also respect the things you have to say about DGIV. I will however, try to clarify what I am saying through your responses.
I believe that I understand what you are saying. However, different people have different needs and express themselves differently. You have a need to look at the negative side first and be surprised when the positive happens. Why? Well, I don't know, but perhaps its because the negative surprise is such a hard thing to handle. I myself am often this way.

Others have a need to look at the positive most the time and take the negative surprises as they come. Why? Perhaps its because they find the occasional negative surprise easier to deal with than the overall negative attitude.

I don't know... those are just guesses. What is clear to me though is that one way of looking at the world not necessarily better than the other... nor is it a better prescription for an approach to investing.

I agree that people look at the world in different ways. I also believe that in general a positive, optimistic outlook is healthier. Alas, I am not capable of such optimism in general. BUT, I think that cynicism and pessimism are much better avenues from which to approach investing, particularly BB investing.
People here were very optimistic about DGIV in January, February, March and April. We had an incredible run and I am as guilty as anyone for just accepting that this price rise was (at least in part) due to the company's progress. When I look back now at this investment and others I have made in the BB world it seems obvious to me that the better tack would have been to ask hard questions then. To be skeptical of the rocketing price and to learn exactly what DGIV was all about. I didnt do this and neither did anyone else here and now we have all lost our shirts. Just recently, you yourself realized this and suggested doing some serious digging. Great but wouldnt we have been better off doing this 6 months ago? Wouldnt we be better off if we had been more skeptical then? I think so. DGIV may not have but I think we all would have and I think that these hard questions would have eased the rapid price rise. Instead we were all rosy eyed cheerleaders. This is why I think being negative (by which I really mean skeptical) about an investment is the better tack. Do you not agree?

As far as the chat is concerned... well, all I can say is that the majority of this group believes it is just fine to talk about the weather, their birthdays, births in their families and even... yes, their trip to Austin. You know what? I want to know all that stuff... and apparently, so do a lot of other people. I don't know what else to tell you.
I know that most here like the chat atmosphere. Frankly a friendly thread is just fine with little old me but it shouldnt be the primary thing here. Too many people here are here JUST to chat and if you look at their posts they are ALL just chat and pie in the sky speculation about DGIV. I believe these people are a detriment to the thread because they become friendly, people like to listen to them and yet nothing constructive is provided by them in the way of information or critical thinking. It's all roses, have patience and hugs and people get complacent. Perhaps I am being too harsh and judgemental on this subject. I have made my thoughts known about the chatters and I will not say any more on that matter.

And what can be construed as hype versus bashing? That too, is a matter of opinion. Anytime one posts an opinion, which both examples you cited clearly labeled the statements as such, one can be construed as hyping the stock or bashing the stock. Such is the nature of a bulletin board. I could go back to several of your posts, for example, and say (though you are a shareholder) that you are a basher because you have made negative statements that are not fully supported by fact. Lets just leave it alone... BTW... I don't like extreme statements on either end of the spectrum... but, then again, that's me.

Opinions are opinions. Negative comments are good if they can be debunked (or realized in time). There should be nothing to fear from the truth. Some negative stuff has been just as thoughtlessly uttered as the positive. Neither kind of post when taken to extemes is good. Predicting that DGIV will be at $8 by the end of the year, even if it is just an honest opinion is foolish isnt it? Seems that way to me but maybe I am wrong. Alot of very effusive posts back in Feb and March helped us get where we are today. I cant stop what anyone posts though so I guess I just have to grin and bear it..

I find that people here dont like me or my posts because they are almost always negative and critical so i dont expect anyone to really care what I have to say..

Aya, you are in control of this. I would say that there are folks here lately that are also disenchanted with the company and have publicly stated that. Yet, they receive a very different sort of treatment. Why is that?

Lazarus, signing off with an unanswered question... unbelievable!

On this I have to agree with you. I dont like to modulate my posts here and given the situation at DGIV I havent had the opportunity to be anything but negative. However you are right in what you say and I need to be less confrontational. Sorry about that. It is something I need to work on.

Lastly, you ask how I would categorize these posts. Are they directly related to DGIV, not really. They are all about investor psychology which unfortunately is the primary driving force here. So I think these posts are very relevant and hopefully helpful.

Best
