>> Where is the radical left today?

In the WH, running a campaign to undermine our system of justice.

BOTH RODINO AND HILLARY WANTED TO DENY PRESIDENT NIXON ANY LEGAL COUNSEL!

Jerome Zeifman, Dem chief counsel to the House Judiciary Committee at the time ofthe Nixon impeachment inquiry, says that in 1974, Hillary Rodham wrote a memourging that President Nixon be denied legal counsel in Watergate hearings!

Zeifman made the claim on KIEV radio in Los Angeles on the George Putnum broadcast.

In 1974, Mrs. Clinton was one of 43 lawyers on the House Judiciary
Committee's special impeachment inquiry staff.

"She wrote a memo where she found that there was no legal basis for President Nixon to have legal counsel," Zeifman said on Tuesday.

Zeifman charged that Judiciary Committee Chairman Peter Rodino even agreed with Rodham's recommendation.

"I told Rodino that I would immediately resign from the committee if
Hillary's advice was followed," Zeifman explained. "Of course the president deserved to have a lawyer, regardless of what she believed."

A White House spokesman refused comment.

Michelle,

I saw that piece on the Rutherford Institute. Yes, that movie was pretty frightening. I loved how that lawyer (i forget his name) kept denying that he was buddies with religious extremists despite all the evidence connecting him to them.

<< Like that clip of the film he did where a militia-type police force come to a middle class home and rip off the housewifes apron and stick a business suit and briefcase in her hand? >>

The amazing thing about that was his response to a charge of extremism regarding that clip - he pointed out that his position has softened somewhat, but I don't believe he felt it was extreme in position, only in rhetoric.

<<Where is the radical left today? >>

Point well taken, except that the feminists are still seen as extremists by their opponents, as are the Earth Firsters, the Act Up crowd and similar groups. When one of their issues is being discussed, they are on the screen being interviewed. They are generally not as violent as their predecessors, but they still have potential <g>. I completely support the guy's right to express his view and to support his causes, but he definitely makes me nervous.

The real point is that the right wing crowd is as scared of the existing groups and of a resurgence of the old groups, as you are of the RR. The pendulum has currently swung away from violence in the cause of liberalism (ignoring Earth First or PETA), and toward the use of force by right wing extremists, but there isn't a natural law that says it won't swing back. The fear (wrong word?) is present on both sides.

<<BTW did you see that piece on the Rutherford Institute on 60 minutes?>>

Michelle, obviously you're not in advertising! 60 Minutes gave the Rutherford Institute something that money couldn't buy...advertisement to a HUGE audience. Did you notice that the guy, Lind, from the Separation of Church and State group made that point. He said the more you point out the fact that the Rutherford Institute takes on conservative discrimination cases, the more they get in contributions!!! You can try to make Whitehead out to be someone to be afraid of all you want! He's the counter to the ACLU and all the liberal groups that are out there trying to take our voices away because we are religious!!!

Did you hear Whitehead tell you that he was a Marxist when he was in college? Jesus turns hearts around everyday....even Marxist! I'll never give up hope!!!

Where is the radical left today? In the anti-Clinton camp...

Why is it there? Because it regards Clinton as an arch-conservative masquerading in liberal clothing. (Not that radical leftists much care for liberals, either.) Take a look at the following ("Clinton More Conservative Than Bush or Reagan"):

atlantic.net

A bit brash, but invigorating. And it has some perky music.
