Just read that Commerzbank ad. You don't suppose they have large exposure to hedge funds do you? LOL.

This is about as silly as believing the Swiss would pre-announce intentions to sell gold two years hence unless there was some manipulating going on.

George,
Thank you for that. very intriguing. Makes no sense on the surface.
I have some great stuff for tomorrow's Midas and supports what you said about trying to hold the price down.
In the Midas commentary I am also going to report ( and this all ties together in a way ) that Banker's Trust is toast, that they are being shopped around Wall Street right now. It is part of the reason the financial sector stocks have been brutalized. The inside big money knows what I am telling you - if my source ( a very conservative one) is correct.
This is very significant as they have a very sophisticated bullion trading operation and we believe they have big gold borrowings - part of these big gold loans we talk about.
I may be wrong, but tomorrow I will explain why the coast is clear for gold to go up now. The powers to be do not want an explosion but the coast is clear to a certain degree.

All the best,

Bill

PS Trichet, top French central banker, today reiterated that the big European central bank holders of gold would not be selling in the near future.

Point(s) well taken, George. You pose the question(s) succinctly.

Very strange indeed. My guess is they are trying to influence the new German government to change their policy of opposing any Gold sales.
But that still begs the question, why does this private bank want public Gold sold of into the market........
