I wondered how long that would take, considering the outrageous sign-on fee here, and the fact that they don't really offer more over Yahoo, except for initially busier boards.

Have you monitored any of the Yahoo boards? It's like listening to a bunch of children fighting. Its regularly much worse than the INPR board on SI was at its lowest. The amount of intelligent discussion is nil. Mostly you just get ranting and raving and people venting their spleens.

I would say that in general, five days of even no posting on this SI board matches the amount of intelligent points made in the same time period on the equivalent Yahoo board.

That having been said, I monitor the Yahoo boards for two stocks. What I find generally is that the people on the boards there quite often have invested in the company and have no idea what product the company makes or what companies or technologies the company competes with.

If you want to watch a street brawl, go to the Yahoo boards. If you want anything close to an intelligent discussion (at least most of the time), stay here at SI.

(I have no financial or any other stake in SI; just making my own observations.)
