An now -- durm roll, please -- the grand-champions' stock picks for the competition ending next March 31: Mr. Steinberg is going with Novell; Mr. Curzio is betting on Churchill Downs;, Ms. Bramwell likes Computer Sciences...

Mr. Steinberg won five rounds against both the darts and the Dow since Investment Dartboard competition became a series of overlapping six-month contests in 1990. He says Novell, a maker of computer networking software in Provo, Utah, "could become one of the Internet highfliers" following the release last month of its NetWare 5 software. "The turnaround is well under way," Mr. Steinberg says. He expects the company to report earnings of 25 cents a share for the fiscal year ending Oct. 31, and 46 cents a share the following year. Novell had a net loss of 22 cents a share, including restructuring charges, in fiscal 1997. Novell traded late yesterday on the Nasdaq Stock Market at $11.375.
