The tech sector should get an immediate boost from the AMD numbers especially coming right behind MOT with INTC soon. If we get enough upside surprises then you have a momentum shift in the whole market such as we saw in July. This time of course, we are in a hole, but it will be good earnings that will lead the way out, all the international noise notwithstanding. I expect to see good numbers from MSFT; AAPL; YHOO; and IBM. Watch Japan; the yen is the key IMO and it is running away from the dollar...a weaker yen and a stronger market go hand in hand.

Somewhat OT.
I vaguely understand the bets those guys at LTCM have made. LTCM debacle can be a positive feed back, self perpetuating, vicious
cycle(whatever you want to call it). The magnitude of the bet is a little mind boggling.
A crash of '98 is not out of question(unfortunately!).
