Mighty Mizzou,

Here, Here!!! That was great!!! I agree with you 100%! If I could afford to investment for than what I already have in the market I would. I firmly agree that Ascend will soar again soon with or without a merger and all of the gloom and doom sayers will be kicking themselves in the ole keister for missing the last great rebound in this US bull market of this century.

I have been told that the last stages of any correction occur when the bellwethers of the market like Cisco and Microsoft have their prices trimmed and not before. Why? Because they are always the strongest stocks in the market and it takes an extremely strong sentiment against them to bring them down. That is what is happening right now. Does anybody for one minute actually believe that Cisco is going to receive anything but a slap on the wrists for their alleged mishaps by the FTC. Get real! That is old news. There was considerable press that disclosed the Cisco-Lucent-Nortel discussions when they were talking. This latest batch of press releases were simply placed at the opportune time to cause a final sell off in Cisco to get them in line with the rest of the sector. No more, no less! I agree that they are still the bloated pig in this industry but their track record placed them there. It took a tremendous sell off to set the stage for Cisco's sell off and I guarantee that they will lead the charge back when investor sentiment returns in favor. Not because I am a big fan of their products and services but they are the biggest player out there and they have street recognization. Obviously, if they preannounce then all bets are off.

Luck luck investing,

Steve

Mighty, well said, I couldn't have said any better.
Long term ASND is a 5 bagger. You are looking at a $40 billion market cap/ 10 billion annual sales company in year 2002. May be even better.

Good luck and stay put.
Regards,
BR

A SOLICITATION TO ALL ASCEND EMPLOYEES - I would personally like to invite any Ascend Communications employees to join us in discussing the fine merits of your company and gain an inside perspective to your company and it's strategic direction. I realized in analyzing other threads that on occasion an employee would drop a line to fellow shareholders to share any legal information they are permitted to disseminate. Your SINCERE input would be regarded in the highest esteem. We are a friendly bunch here and would greatly appreciate any comments you can make. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Pete Griffin
