PE's expand at the bottom of the cycle hence you are at the bottom. Remember that.

you should post a chart to the "smart guy" and show him what a great short NEM was on Mon (LOL!!)

thanks for the opposing view on gold stocks, slava. I guess he is basing his opinion on a presumption that the price of gold will not rise significantly, which most of us here believe it will. If gold is stagnant, he's right, but if it takes off, these companies' profits take off too and his valuation is way off. It takes opposing views to make a market, somebody has to sell me their stock. I appreciate seeing the opposite side of the coin though, if we just listen to LT all the time we get complacent (but we do probably because he has been correct so far . . . ).
